Variant Envy: Archie #1 Dave Dorman and Chris Foreman Variants
DrunkWookie writes for comicsheatingup.net
This one should be an easy one. So far I have ordered 4 copies of both the Foreman and the Dorman variant covers to Archie #1 variant covers directly from MMComics. I originally ordered them because (1) The Foreman cover is another ASM 300 homage. Say what you will about whether this homage is played out, the Phantom variants for Deadpool 45, Ant-Man 5, Spider-Gwen 1, Silk 2 and 3 still fetch coin; (2) the Dorman cover is amazingly good! He has always been my favorite cover artist since Star Wars Dark Empire; and, finally,(3) the Dorman cover is limited to 1,750 copies! No word on the print run on the Foreman cover, but being a lesser-known artist, I imagine the print run is similar. Continue reading “Variant Envy: Archie #1 Dave Dorman and Chris Foreman Variants”

DrunkWooky's Crystal Ball Spec
I’m sure you have seen Marvel’s September solicitations. One image in particular stood out to me. While we know that Red Wolf will be in Marvel’s All New All Different Universe, it seems like Arkon, from Weirdworld, is sharing a small portion of the limelight on the Alex Ross cover of Secret Wars #7.
Of course, Arkon may not survive Secret Wars, but who knows. With Spider-Gwen, it appears that Marvel reacted pretty quickly to fan feedback, and Weirdworld is gaining some acclaim and traction with issue #1. Continue reading “DrunkWooky's Crystal Ball Spec”

The CBCS Original Art Program!
CBCS has responded to original art collectors by creating an innovative new service for our hobby.
CBCS recognized that when it comes to sketch covers, some hobbyists feel the focus should be on the artwork, not the grade of the book. This program was created for these hobbyists and those who don’t feel the need to have grades assigned to their authentic sketch covers.
The Original Art Program (OAP) gives collectors yet another choice when it comes to collecting authentic signatures and artwork. Continue reading “The CBCS Original Art Program!”
