Diamond Comics Advanced Reorder List 9/13/13
The Diamond Comics Advanced reorder list is one of those tools that Speculators can use to figure out what is going to be hot. The books are all ones that retailers have gone back to up their orders on. This could be for several different reasons; the previous issue sold better than expected, customer’s are coming in asking about the book, a new number 1, or message board and web site chatter. This weeks does not feature any villain month books! This is great because that is all that has been featured for the past 6 weeks.
Here is this week’s advanced reorder list:
1. Star Wars: The Lucas Draft #2- The first issue sold really well and fans are clamoring for Lucas’ original vision.
2. All New X-Men #17– Really the best X-Men book on the stands.
3. All New X-Men Special #1– See above
4. Catwoman #23 2nd print– No surprise as the appearance of Jokers Daughter has caused the book to sell out the say before it came out.
5. Hinterkind #1– New Vertigo Series. Vertigo has seen a rebirth over the past two months putting out Image quality books (used to be Image was putting out Vertigo quality.)
6. Walking Dead #1 10th Anniversary Edition– Buy Walking Dead #1 for $5.99 (in Color.)
7. Nova #9– Infinity Cross over. Great Marvel book that hasn’t taken off yet, and I do not know why.
8. Forever Evil #2– The story that started Villain’s month and the villains found out Nightwing’s identity.
9. Walking Dead #115 Midnight Release Party Variant– Special edition book for those stores doing an early release. This will be huge as will the actual #115 variants.
10. Marvel Knights Spiderman #1- Let the oversaturation of Spiderman books continue.
11. Captain America Living Legend #1– This is a re-solicit.
12. Witching Hour #1- Yeah Horror comics! nine new supernatural tales by a coven of the best writers and artists VERTIGO could cram into 70 pages.
13. Mighty Avengers #2– Infinity tie in
14. Fantomex Max #1– Mysterious X-Man in his own book. This could be hot.
15. Batman #24– Mega $6.99 book continues Year Zero
16. Mocking Dead #1 2nd Printing– New cover for the sold out book.
18. Thor Vs Thanos TPB- all things Thanos are hot.
19. Uncanny X-Men Premier Hardcover Vol. 2
20. Marvel Universe Avengers Assemble #1- All ages
21. Infinity Hunt #1– Infinity Tie in
22. Superman Wonder Woman #1
23. Batman Black & White #2
24. Infinity #5
25. Infinity #6

‘Suicide 5’ interview with Jason Pell
We have talked a lot about Kickstarter projects being the breeding ground for hot new comics. We have seen ‘The Outliers’, ‘Watson and Holmes’, ‘Wild Blue Yonder’, ‘Voice in the Dark’, and others take off and become darlings of the secondary market. Some of these have ended up getting major distribution, and the Kickstarter variants being the ones really sought after. One book that is on my radar, ‘Suicide 5’, is being funded now, and for $20 you get the hard cover version. This one is on my radar because it is delightfully twisted in the content of the book. DC 3d covers week 2 results
Well we all know these were going to sell. We just didn’t know how many or how much. I sold through my first weeks covers (held my breath a little) but ended up doubling my money on them (even after ebay fees.) At first it looked sketch but it worked out.
Here is what this weeks 3d covers are going for.

Comic Picks of the week for Wednesday Sept. 11th 2013
Hey everyone, trying to get back on my regular schedule. Baltimore comic con really took its toll on me and my wallet, as did the 13 3d covers from last week. So I am looking for more flips. Here are this weeks books of the week based on what I, and others, think are going to be hot.

A look ahead to this Wednesday
I usually give my picks of the week late Tuesday or at the latest early Wednesday. I also like to give a heads up on what else is coming out during the week that may be worth a pick up. Because of being at Baltimore Comic Con this weekend, I am a day behind. So here is a look ahead at what is being released this week.
1. Walking Dead #114 As the book continues to grow and so does the show, more people keep grabbing up issues. Always a good bet.
2. Rachel Rising #19 Still a great book with fantastic story and art by Terry Moore. It was optioned and since they all have a low print run could still be worth the pick up (one of my monthly titles.)
3. The Other Dead #1 The comic has three covers, a regular, a subscription, and an Obama Variant which has already been bringing notice to the series. . This has caused heat just due to the cover image. The story is about zombie animals. May have been delayed a week, but don’t sleep on this one.
4. Ghosted #3 I seriously think this will get made into a movie. It has Kirkman’s star power behind it as it comes out from Skyward.
5. Collider, I mean, Federal Bureau of Physics #3 is still one of Vertigo’s best reads.
6. Brain Boy #1 Dark Horse continues to expand it’s heroes line with this remake of a classic Golden Age character.
7. Eternal Warrior #1 I was never a fan of the original Valiant stuff, but the new launches have been fantastic. This one looks cool from the preview I read.

Larry from Larry’s comics reacts to Villains month day two.
I tend to agree with Larry of Larry’s comics on a lot of things. I had posted earlier in the week that I felt let down by the Villains month books. Especially the 3d Joker. Sure the cover rocked but the story was about Joker getting a helper monkey…..
Anyway see Larry’s reaction after the bump and discuss. Readers with a sensitivity towards language should avoid. Continue reading “Larry from Larry’s comics reacts to Villains month day two.”
CGC-ing ‘The Outliers’ #1? Here is what you should know
Thank you to Matthew Swanson for the info.
I received an email this morning in reference to a request sent to CGC about grading ‘The Outliers #1’. There are two issues with the book that have to be accounted for. The first is, many of the books shipped from the publisher had a sticker over the bar code. this was done as some of the bar code printed had the black run together, which made them unreadable by a bar code scanner. The second issue is the dust cover the book was wrapped in. Here is the response from CGC.

DC 3-d covers, which ones were you able to get
Just a quick question to you all, which covers did you get in the 3-d variant? Please respond in the comment section. Spoke to some retailers who said they didn’t bother putting them out, just were selling them on ebay. Spoke to others who were charging a premium. What were your experiences at your local store today? I hit Third Eye Comics in Annapolis Maryland today and they had a ton of each cover. Around noon today they still had all the covers in stock, limit one per customer, at cover price.
Wednesday’s sold out books
There are a couple of books coming out this week that are sold out at the distributor level and worth a pick up. Selling out at the distributor level does not mean you cannot find them in stores, but they may sell out quickly, and once they do, the stores cannot reorder first prints.
Speculator Pick: Batman Family #6, 1st JOKER’S DAUGHTER!
Thanks to Dakoit at http://comicbookspeculation.blogspot.ca/ for the heads up on this one. Make sure you check out his blog.
Hello Everyone!
Hope all you had a wonderful restful long weekend! I just got back from my brother’s wedding, and had just a beautiful time with all my friends and family. That’s how long weekends should be spent. Happiest time of my life. 🙂
Well well, from the title, I’m actually now going on three weeks strong on the bat-verse of characters. This week, I just had to cover the first appearance of a particular female who’s been on every speculators radar of late. Many comic stores have sold out of her re-introduction in the DC NEW 52. Naturally, this would be a great time to discuss her first appearance. Batman Family #6 introduced the world to ‘Joker’s Daughter’: Continue reading “Speculator Pick: Batman Family #6, 1st JOKER’S DAUGHTER!”
