This new show that is set to debut on TNT this May is a show I’ve actually been looking forward to myself. I’m not huge on watching television but since they’ve been pumping out commercials to market the show, it’s got my interest.
Garth Ennis fan? Love a good war story? Ran out of things to read during our shelter in place lockdown? Well, that’s not holding back Dead Reckoning to release Garth Ennis and PJ Holden’s new book The Stringbags for a May 20th release.
Some weeks it’s mostly likes, other weeks it’s dislikes.
So what’s grinding my gears this week?
This one is for all you POP fans. TFAW has a Buy 2 Get 1 Free Sale going on currently.
A few days ago, Sony unveiled the title to the next Venom movie that also got a new release date, pushed back do to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Here’s a brief look at the early key books that define who this character is and where he originated from.
Not sure about the rest of you folks but this is not surprising, news from DC is that they have the final say on their own products, not Diamond.
Click continue to see the direct market email they just sent out regarding their new comics.
It’s been a few weeks since the last Throwback Thursday, which I apologize for. Been busy juggling work, school for kids, crap to do around the house and just quite frankly, trying to find any motivation at all is exhausting.
This week I’m heading back to April of 1972.. where Marvel kicked off a new title and the creators Roy Thomas and Gil Kane revamped a relatively unknown character into someone we, the comic book world, all know today…..
Brubaker fan? Enjoy Marcos Martin’s work he did for Brian K. Vaughn’s Barrier? Love the pay your own price format to download and read great comics?
So a few days ago, after DC already announced they were proceeding with new distributors besides Diamond to start pushing comics out to retailers, Diamond sent a followup to retailers claiming basically a don’t worry, orders already placed will be fulfilled type of email.
Yet, now it appears almost everything in the FOC monthly at Diamond for DC has vanished.
For you Midtown shoppers, if you haven’t bought any back issues recently, seems any orders they’ll throw in a random Midtown Exclusive Variant for free, up through April 30th.
So DC is shipping again, bypassing Diamond. Some are happy about this while others are crying foul. Regardless of the politics behind it all, here at CHU we talk about new books, so that’s what we’re gonna do.
So please leave the politics out and just talk about the books that might be hitting a few store shelves (which most will be fulfilled by online sales and or curbside pickup to start off with most shops who are actually getting these books).
Don’t like spending full retail price on the ratio variants? Well, TFAW has a pretty decent sale going on right now for the more recent ratio variants.
Announcing the Thunderous CHU Giveaway winners.. Winners? What, I thought there was only one prize for one winner. Keep reading to find out who or what else I threw in to a second winner.
This news might of already showed up in your news feed but since there’s no new comics hitting shelves, any comic and MCU related news grabs my attention. I thought this one was worthy in talking about.
Anyone else watching the sketches Jim Lee has been listing for charity? I have since there’s no new comics hitting the shelves for now. This update brings a pretty awesome sketch I can see pushing the limits on money raised.
Does the COVID-19 quarantine and stay at home orders got you all blue? Do you miss new comic book Wednesdays cause all the shops are shutdown as well?
Well, how about a little CHU giveaway to cheer you up?
It’s day 14 of my own lock down reading challenge, to read books that have been on the ever growing read list.

I just want to also start off, Anthony gave me my own CHU login to write and publish articles back in October of 2017, this is now my 1,000 article under my own login. It also marks the 315 day straight that I have posted an article here on CHU. I know, I’m patting myself on the back a little but you know, someone has to do it..
It’s day 13 (I know, skipped a few nights) of my own lock down reading challenge, to read books that have been on the ever growing read list.
