Previews gives us a glimpse of what’s to come. Here’s the spotlight of new small publisher books coming out of September Previews.
We have the big two, we have the indies and then there’s the in-between. The publishers who are not necessarily small but still have a small market share from the big publishers.
There has been another Wednesday Winner from this past week and it was Dark Horse’s new No One Left To Fight #1.
Welcome once again to the another installment of the One Week Later Report. This week we’ll cover the books released on 05/15/2019.
Every month, we get small glimpses of what books are on their way to store shelves.
We spec, I drek and sometimes I’m actually right on both. That’s the game when it comes to spec’ing. So we dive into another week of the comic book world that is like Christmas in the middle of the week.
Dark Horse was giving out ashcan’s of this new comic at NYCC 2018.
I hadn’t had a chance to read and skim through it with all the convention chaos until today, still playing catch-up on everything while having to work at the day time gig.

I should be settling into the hotel in NYC by the time this is posted. Is everyone attending ready for NYCC? Let us know in the comments if you plan on being there.

The news flying out of SDCC has been fast and furious. While I was driving home my iPhone was lighting up with tips that Dark Horse Comics ‘Number 13’ was not only picked up for a movie, but they released the trailer at the Dark Horse Black panel.
You can see the trailer for yourself at http://number13.info/ and I can say it looks pretty awesome. Kind of reminds me of the special effects of The Returner.
Of course, get the books before they blow up. Number 13 on eBay get them while they are cheap
In the transition from our old blog to this one I did not put out a couple of books that are heating up, albeit cooling down a little now. So here is the post as it should have run on the blogspot site
Two books I have been selling like crazy, that the shop owners do not seem to know are hot, are Injustice Gods Among Us and the Black Beetle.
Of the two, Black Beetle is my fave. It is a grim and gritty (cliche I know) noir super/science hero. It is very much in the vein of Lobster Johnson. Since the writer/artist Francesco Francavilla did some work for Mignola it is not surprising.
The first appearance was in Dark Horse presents 11. There are two covers for this one, the regular fetches around $13 and the Francavilla fetches around $20. There is a 0 issue which reprints the Dark Horse Presents chapters and goes for about $30. The #1 issue is pulling in about $20 (these have dipped a little since i first wrote this but are still commanding a premium.)
The second book is a DC video game tie in, Injustice Gods Among Us. The video game has a lot of hype and it has spilled over into the comic back story adaptation. #1 of this book is still sitting on a lot of shelves, mostly because people do not usually buy non-cannon video game tie ins. It is fetching $14-20.
This has been an easy flip as the demand for this book is strong.
