CROSSOVER is Coming This November from Image Comics

The print run is going to be massive. There’s likely going to be a ton of store variants. So go with Cover A if you can’t decide or buy the cover you like most. But looking forward to this new series since I really enjoyed God Country (as I’m still severely behind in catching up on Redneck).

Chu #1 – Sneak Peek Preview

Yes, it’s Chu, the acronym for this site and yes, coincidentally the guy who runs this site is named Tony. But here’s your sneak peek preview I promised of the next chapter spun directly out of the beloved Chew from the mind of John Layman.

That Texas Blood #1 – Advanced Sneak Peek Preview from Image Comics

That Texas Blood is a new book I’ve been anticipating since first seeing the initial press release. And now I’ve been given an advanced review copy which I’ll say is a slow build but I definitely want to see where this story is heading.

Nailbiter Returns #1 – Advanced Sneak Peek Preview

The first volume of Nailbiter was a great read. So this new volume is on the must pick up and read list. Nailbiter would make a great Netflix or other streaming show if you ask me.

Nailbiter Returns This June from Image Comics

This was one of the last few series from Image Comics I think I bought each and every single issue from beginning to end, not waiting on the trades.

Now it returns…

Lockdown Reading List for Wednesday April 1st, 2020

Today was suppose to be new comic book day but now it’s day 7 of my own lock down reading challenge, to read books that have been on the ever growing read list.

Lockdown Reading List for Thursday March 26th, 2020

So since Diamond isn’t shipping new books for the time being and most of us are stuck at home, I figured it’d be fun (and my own challenge) to start up a new article of what I’m reading each day (because my to-read list was getting way too long as it is) and everyone can jump in and share what they might be reading as well, during their own lockdown.

Can be recent book, random book, several books.. I’ll be picking at random from the ever growing Poyo Library. Maybe we can make these the daily open forums, not limited to what you’re reading but anything else in the comic book world of news, updates, thoughts, etc as well.

Ludocrats #1 – Sneak Peek Preview

It’s the week of previews apparently. Lots of new books coming out and unless you people don’t like previews, well, we’ll keep them coming for you’re viewing pleasure.

I think previews are great, it helps someone determine if they’re going to be interested or not in the book, story and art. So here’s a sneak peek preview of Gillen’s new Ludocrats, which some might not get into but I found it pretty entertaining.

Stealth #1 – Sneak Peek Preview

Stealth is a new Skybound series from the creative minds of Robert Kirkman and Marc Silvestri. With a deal already in place for Universal (Lee Daniels tapped to direct) to create this as a film, could be an interesting book to watch. Most of the time media deals told in advance don’t help speculation.

Decorum #1 – Extended 16 Page Advanced Sneak Peek Preview

Decorum #1 is out from Image Comics next week and is already being limited at Midtown to 1 per customer.

From the mind of Jonathan Hickman and art by Mike Huddleston, here’s an advanced extended 16 page sneak peek.

Mercy #1 Goes Back For Second Printing

I know it’s all marketing terms they use but the press release has some questionable phrases and words used to describe this second printing. Almost laughable if you ask me. It’s a great read but I don’t think we need an “Emergency” second printing ordered.

You can still find these at TFAW, almost all covers but limited to 1 per customer and likely your local shops.

Mirka Andolfo’s Mercy #1 – Sneak Peek Preview

You really give creators due credit when they not only write but draw and color their own stories. That’s exactly what Mirka Andolfo does and after getting an advanced review of this weeks new Mercy #1 hitting shelves, I’m hooked.

Poyo’s Trade and Hardcover Picks of the Week

We shouldn’t just collect or flip books, we should also read them. A good story can make your purchase well worth the money spent if you ask me. After all, we buy books to read for entertainment right? Even if you can’t flip them, reading is just as rewarding.
