Long time no talk CHU! I’ve been chomping at the bit to hit up a con since November 2019. San Diego Comic Con Special Edition took place over the Thanksgiving weekend. Wasn’t sure what it was going to feel like, but once I was inside that specific exhibit hall with all the old SDCC signage it was like no time had passed. Many exhibitors I spoke with viewed this con the same way I did – dipping our toes back in the water before the big show comes back in July. Continue reading “San Diego Comic-Con SE 2021 Wrap Up”
So there’s no SDCC this year but they’re still pumping out some toys and statues. Here’s my own highlight toys that I have to fight off the urge in spending all my money on. Some of these might be repeats from Anthony’s big post on the exclusives, I’ve narrowed these down to the ones I would likely pick up to own myself.

Greetings CHU! Our Superbowl took place last weekend in San Diego with every major comic publisher under one roof plus movie and TV studios, here is one person’s ground view of the event. I know you all heard the Phase 4 news and probably gobbled up all those keys by now! Check out some of my “not Hall H” experiences… Continue reading “SDCC 2019 Wrap Up – Louie M’s Adventures”
I felt there were strangely less coplayers than previous years. I don’t know why but the speculation was more strict prop policies mixed with all of Harbor being shut down in front of the convention center for badge holders only – it was simply more difficult to get close to the convention. Doesn’t mean there wasn’t many talented and creative people to take pics of. I really loved the family doing the Jurassic Park characters. Tell us who your favorites are in the comments! Cosplayers are one of the best parts of attending any comic convention. They were not around conventions when I was a kid, and it’s a blessing to have them today. They bring our favorite characters to life. Check out the Cosplay that was on display in San Diego! Continue reading “San Diego Comic Con 2018 Cosplay Gallery”
San Diego Comic Con, the Nerd Superbowl, started on July 18th. This was definitely a transition year for SDCC. Almost everything is a lottery now. On one hand, it’s an even playing field. On another hand, those who are more vigilant and willing to work harder don’t get an advantage. Depends on your definition of fairness. Attendees could sign up in what’s called an “Exclusives Portal” for lotteries to all major signings and exclusive booths. I entered for almost everything in every time slot. I won nothing. Squat. So we can say I wasn’t a big fan this year. My main request of SDCC is to only allow each winning attendee to win only once, since some people won multiples while some won nothing. This has been a fabulous week so far. Not only am I writing this on vacation (Anthony told me I had to or he was going to slash my salary in half. What’s half of zero?) but all the news out from SDCC has been great news for the comic book industry.
