Potentially 71 Stores refuse to order the Marvel Lenticular Covers

DC made their recent and previously released Lenticular covers open to order. Marvel took a different tact by making them orderable only if shops ordered an x number of books above other books in order to get them. For example if they ordered 10 copies of one book they would have to order 15-17 to qualify to order the lenticular covers. Alana Tries PGX, Unboxing and Review

Aloha CHUniverse, today I would like to share my unboxing and overall experience with PGX grading services. While I own many graded books from all 3 of the big graders this is the first time I’ve sent books my self to be graded. I chose PGX for a few reasons, price, turn around time, and in house pressing. Price is really important to me because CGC would want a lot of money on some of the books I had graded with their crazy % pricing based on Fair Market Value. Turn around time, being my first time sending high dollar collectibles I definitely want them out of hand as little as possible. Finally in house pressing saves $ from having to send to a pressers then to a grading company, also less people messing with the book. I sent books that are all important keys that all deserved grading let’s see how I did! Continue reading “Alana Tries PGX, Unboxing and Review”

One Year Later: Spec Review for 8/17/16

By Shawn B. the One Year Later Investigator
What up CHU!?! Shawn B. back with another One Year Later round up, where we take a look at some of the comics that Anthony, Mel and Poyo specced on one year ago. Their specs turn out to be quick flips, slow burns, straight up misses, straight up winners and on and on. Sometimes they spec with their hearts out of their passion for comics. Sometimes they spec based on data. And sometimes they spec based off the word on the street. Either way, all their specs appeal to a few or many collectors whether it is due to them having similar taste in writing or art, or just an opportunity for a collector to flip a book and make money to “support their habit”. So, this is our weekly chance to look back at how some of our buys from a year ago are doing today. Continue reading “One Year Later: Spec Review for 8/17/16”
