The Diamond Comics Advance Reorder List is a great speculator tool. It shows what books retailers are going back to get more of, in advance of their release. Stores commission exclusive covers for books all the time. It is awesome when they commission the exclusives and offer them at a low price. That is where the inexpensive variant alerts come in, spotlighting cool books at low prices. Farmhand #1 is a new Image series by Chew artist, Rob Guillory. What up CHUllectors!?! Shawn B. the One Year Later Investigator, back with another One Year Later round up, where we take a look at some of the comics that Anthony, Mel, and Poyo specced on one year ago. Their specs turn out to be quick flips, slow burns, straight up misses, straight up winners and on and on. Sometimes they spec with their hearts out of their passion for comics. Sometimes they spec based on data. And sometimes they spec based off the word on the street. Either way, all their specs appeal to a few or many collectors whether it is due to them having similar taste in writing or art, or just an opportunity for a collector to flip a book and make money to “support their habit”. So, this is our weekly chance to look back at how some of our buys from a year ago are doing today.
I gotta say that I can hardly wait another year to review this week’s (as in this year) specs. I can’t remember the last time seeing this much potential in a single week.

Crush has been the talk of the spec community for a little while now. We got a small taste, first cameo, in Teen Titans Special #1. Her first full appearance will be in Teen Titans #20 featuring a regular and Karmome Shirahama Variant. There is also a ratio variant for this, something DC has not been doing for a while. Black Panther #2 is out today. This one caught me off guard. It could be a sleeper with all the other spec going on this week on various books and first appearances. Seems Eric Killmonger is the ruler of the space based nation of Wakanda. And it seems he has more than just the powers of Black Panther to help keep him in charge. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #32 is out tomorrow. It is already selling for multiple times cover price. Why? A new character, Princess Fisk. Wilson Fisk has another child and she is coming to the local elementary school where Moon Girl goes. Combination of low print run and spec interest drives prices up. So who is Princess Fisk anyway?
