We shouldn’t just collect or flip books, we should also read them. A good story can make your purchase well worth the money spent if you ask me. After all, we buy books to read for entertainment right? Even if you can’t flip them, reading is just as rewarding.

Welcome once again to the another installment of the One Week Later Report. This week we’ll cover the books released on 06/26/2019.
Indie books allow creators to express their stories and hard work in their own unique way. That’s what makes these books special.
SDCC is upon us. That means convention variants are upon us. Here is the full list of IDW SDCC variants for the upcoming mega convention in San Diego.

It’s been a while since we’ve had a Wednesday Winner post (Thanks to rush diehard for the inspiration and reminder we haven’t done one in a while). This week was exciting for comic flippers. A few winners with one of them being a total surprise, which is always welcome.
One year ago, we spec’d on new books hitting the shelves. Now it’s time to see how those specs and picks are doing now.
This weeks Throwback Thursday I’m changing things up a bit. Instead of focusing on super hero debut, let’s travel back to June 1999 to check out what was on the comic book shelves around this time, 20 years ago.
It’s that time again to spec and drek. We pick what we think will go on to be winners, whether it’s value or just a great story. We also throw in a loser pick, what we should not bother buying.
Welcome once again to the another installment of the One Week Later Report. This week we’ll cover the books released on 06/12/2019.

Midtown signings and events are a great way to see what books will come in the near future for those cheap cover price signed books.
So here’s a look at their upcoming June Signing events which looks like a great line up of creators and writers. If you live in the NYC area, you get to attend these in person but for the rest of us, we have to wait and order online if and when these signed books go on sale.

The book that likely had a million copies printed and a likely roller coaster ride on value over the past 27 years.
This Monday is Memorial Day 2019. A day we remember and honor those who have fallen in battle, defending our great nation. So I browsed and picked a early Marvel book before they were even using the name Marvel that sticks to the theme for this Memorial day.
This weeks throwback is a fun one I think, at least for most of us that were around.
35 years ago, we were introduced to four turtles. Who would have thought they would turn into what they are today, pretty much a million dollar industry with several movies, cartoons, video games and toys.
We shouldn’t just collect or flip books, we should also read them. A good story can make your purchase well worth the money spent if you ask me. After all, we buy books to read for entertainment right? Even if you can’t flip them, reading is just as rewarding.

This week we go back to 1983 to learn about the origin of one of the most well known villains in the Marvel Universe, which has yet to make his MCU debut but here’s to hoping he does in the foreseeable future.
It’s that time again, where I tell you what’s really grinding my gears for the week of May 8th, 2019.
Some weeks it’s mostly likes, other weeks it’s dislikes.
So what’s grinding my gears this week?

This weeks throwback goes all the way back to 1959 and it’s a super throwback if you ask me.
One year ago, we spec’d on new books hitting the shelves. Now it’s time to see how those specs and picks are doing now.
This throwback we go way back, back to 1939. The time when super heroes were just taking off with Superman heading the way, the hero of the skies but what about the sea? You might be thinking Aquaman but he didn’t show up on the scene until 1941.
This week’s MARVELous Monday goes back to 1982 where we relive the death of Captain Marvel in the Death of Captain Marvel graphic novel by Jim Starlin.
I hope you all are enjoying these Throwback Thursdays so far. I know I am, as it’s a great way to revisit the past and learn some things that were either forgotten or not known with the rich comic book history we are now living in.
The focus for now is first appearances which I’m hoping to evolve into throwbacks to story lines and other prominent occurrences.
