Poyo’s Spec & Drek for June 2nd, 2021
Welcome to this weeks spec and drek. This is where we pick the winners each week we (or shall I say myself) think will be spec worthy, a great read or just cool looking art on the cover. I also dive into the pesky drek, the book you should probably avoid if you can or perhaps not invest so heavily into.

Batman Fortnite Zero Point #1 Why You Should Pay Attention to This Book
Fortnite is coming to Batman. No surprise, Batman was in Fortnite a season or two ago, they did a special Joker/Poison Ivy pack over the holidays that went well. (Last season of Fortnite focused on Marvel characters and skins and had a very Marvel heavy storyline. This season pop culture skins include the Alien Xenomorph, Predator, Terminator, Daryl Dixon and Michonne, and others.)But I mean Batman Fortnite Zero Point #1. Ok, you guys are not excited yet, I get it. So why should you take the chance on the book? I mean after all, not like the Fortnite Marvel variants are selling for that much. No, the reason isn’t a variant, the reason isn’t even the story, the reason is below, from the solicitation… Continue reading “Batman Fortnite Zero Point #1 Why You Should Pay Attention to This Book”

Spoilers: Batman #93 – Who Is The Designer?
Is anyone having CHU spoiler withdrawal symptoms? Didn’t realize how much I miss them myself. Maybe some quick spoilers will help cheer you up since all new comic news sort of ceased since the COVID-19 shutdowns of businesses.
So I’ve spoiled the Harley vs Punchline pages from Batman #93 a couple of weeks back. By now we were suppose to have Batman #92 in our hands but due to the Diamond shutdown and current government lockdowns, who’s to know when these will reach the masses.
Regardless, here’s the few panes where we learn the true identity of new guy that calls himself The Designer that was waiting for Batman in his own study in Wayne Manor at the end of Batman #92 that was spoiled a few weeks back as well.
Continue to see the unseen spoilers now..

Poyo’s Trade and Hardcover Picks of the Week
We shouldn’t just collect or flip books, we should also read them. A good story can make your purchase well worth the money spent if you ask me. After all, we buy books to read for entertainment right? Even if you can’t flip them, reading is just as rewarding.

Phoenix Comic Fest 2018 Wrap Up
Phoenix Comic Fest (formerly Phoenix Comicon) took place over the Memorial Day weekend. 2017 was a rough year for the event: staffing issues, near shooting incident, and taking on SDCC over the use of ‘comic con’ name. That’s all in the past now and they have revamped the con for 2018 in many ways. Now wristbands are mailed in advance, far more security checkpoints/entrances, and a slew of minor improvements throughout the convention center. Continue reading “Phoenix Comic Fest 2018 Wrap Up”
